I am…walking down Market Street

IMG 0350

Walking down Market Street, looking at the graffiti as I often do, I saw a scrawl that said, "we are human, are you?" I stopped in my tracks and wondered who wrote that? who were they addressing? who are the we? the human among us? what does it mean to be human? I photographed the wall, went home and began work on this piece inspired by the graffiti question. It clearly had only one response. You can see the original piece of graffiti if you look closely in the upper left quadrant.

Friday, My Day, Spy Day, Try Day, Why Day, Fly Day

Today I had so many BIG plans, create some fantastic art, write a book, finish the book I'm working on, add lots of flowers to the garden, take yoga class, put up my street art in the street, read Boardwalk Empire - which I just started, catch up on all emails and really so much more, but as fate would have it I have a cold, sore throat, chills and generally feel under the weather. So, I'm going to get into bed with something hot to drink, turn on the TV and maybe even take a nap. So decadent.  Actually the other thing that I'm working on is finishing 20 new copies of my zine on climate change.  It's called, "It all started with the weather, but really, 'You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows' (bob dylan)" I know it's not a very succinct title, but, I like it and if you read the zine, it makes sense. I'm hand coloring the pages.  If anyone out there in internet land reads this and wants a copy of my zine, I'll send you one. It's my way of trying to make a tiny little difference in raising awareness about the environmental crisis that we have created and perhaps can repair.  Go to the contact me page and send me an email with your actual address and I'll snail mail it to you.ss
